Donna Karan Fall 2012
in shades of black, red and grey with sprinkles of white, caramel and plum and a few animal prints, the DKNY F/W 2012-13 collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week captivates our eyes with the asymmetrical cuts in the neckline, allowing the shoulder some protagonist and the sensual hem on skirts and dresses giving legs the well deserved center of attention.
Transparencies are marked with “heavier” materials, sequences and crystals creating an interesting journey for the observing eye.
Dresses with well structured tops, well fitted skirts at knee level or Opera worthy, high wasted pants, strong shoulder jackets and new versions of trench coats are all present in this collection and duly accessorized with purses, shoes, boots and, of course, the little hats.
The 30’s glamour in the skirts and materials, a hint of cabaret in the hats and penguin jackets, a glimpse of Chanel in the white sleeves and straight lines, are clear inspirations in this collection. Still, Donna Karan is true to herself and her unquestionable class and style.
A collection for strong and feminine women by a strong and feminine fashion designer.
